I will be at Harris 6-7p. Please send someone to pickup a Dick's Sporting Goods box. This box will have a bucket of practice balls and scorebook. The rest of the equipment will be handed out on Monday night.
Your Practice schedule starts this weekend. You have at least 12 practices scheduled starting this weekend till May 4th. I expect some of your practices will get rained out or too cold outside. For any reschedules or changes, please look at master schedules and find an open time and day to change too.
Your team practice schedules start this weekend. You will see about 12 practices scheduled starting from this weekend till May 4th. I expect some of your practices will be rained out or too cold. I will only reschedule by request and open field times.
Thanks again for volunteering your time to help coach these young players. Please check the website for your teams practice schedule. I will have game schedules by end of next week. It may appear to be a lot of practices on the schedule with 12 but Mother Nature will end up canceling out some of the practices due to rain and cold weather. I will not reschedule any rained out practices unless you request and there is an open field time.
Three rule adjustments:
1. Batting: The batter will receive five pitches or three swinging strikes, whichever occurs first. Each pitch will count as one of the five even if the batter does not swing. If the fifth pitch is hit (not bunted) foul the batter will remain at bat as long as they continue to foul off pitches.
2. Bunting is allowed it shall be done with the following provisions: A player may square to bunt and pull back. A batter CAN NOT square to bunt, pull back, and then either hit or bunt the ball. If the batter does this she will be called out. No runners advance. A bunt that is fouled on the third strike or fifth pitch results in the batter being out.
3. Slapping is allowed but slapper must keep both feet in batter's box at contact. Slapper making contact with ball without both feet in batter's box will be called out and all runners return to base they started at the time of pitch. A Slapper CAN NOT square to bunt, pull back, and then either hit or bunt the ball. If the batter does this she will be called out. No runners advance. A bunt that is fouled on the third strike or fifth pitch results in the batter being out.
