Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Which league should I register my player(s) for?
- We have divisions for all skill levels from beginner to seasoned travel players, ages 3-18. See the "League Information" page for details on age breakdowns.
Can my son/daughter move up/down a division to match his/her skill level?
- Yes! Contact the baseball or softball commissioner and we will help place your player at the division most appropriate for their skills.
Are there any discounts offered?
- Yes! When registering, use the following discount codes as they apply:
- 2025FAM10 (1st sibling - $10 off)
- 2025FAM20 (additional siblings - $20 off)
- 2025TRAVEL50 (travel players - any program - $50 off)
What equipment does my player need?
- Please see the link here for guidance on required equipment for various divisions of baseball/softball. For baseball and coed tee-ball, a hat and uniform shirt are provided. For softball, socks and uniform shirt are provided. All shirts are customized with name and number.
When does the season start?
- For all divisions except coed 4U tee ball, practices begin the week following spring break (4/14/25). Expect 1-2 practices per week before the start of games on Opening Day, which is scheduled for the first Saturday in May (5/3/25). 4U tee ball begins with Opening Day.
What days are practices/games?
- Please see the "League Information" page for details on number/length of practices/games and typical days these occur. Note we typically try not to schedule games on Saturdays for our older divisions in order to enable travel ball players to compete in both our rec season games at Harris and any travel tournaments over weekends.
When does the season end?
- Regular-season games are scheduled to end by 6/21/25. The season concludes with tournaments in each division (8U/Machine Pitch and older) during the last full week of June (6/23-6/28/25). Rain dates for tournament games will be 6/30 and 7/1/25.
Do coaches have background checks? What are the requirements for being a coach?
- Yes! Coaches are required to pass a background check before they are assigned to a team. They also need to take an online safe environment training course. Both of these resources are paid for by Harris, as we prioritize the safety and well-being of all our players. Please see the "Coaching Requirements" page for more details. After fulfilling these requirements, coaches receive an informational briefing at a pre-season meeting. Additionally, coaching resources are provided.
